The EZ Pho' Story
We have lived in remote Western Alaska for most of our adult lives, and we always discovered new foods and flavors while vacationing. Mike tried Vietnamese pho' soup for the first time in 2008 and vowed to recreate it at home. His first try involved more than10 lbs of bone-in beef and a full day of cooking, and we had to eat the boiled beef for the entire next week. The pho' broth was excellent, but needless to say, the methods used in this first experiment would be impractical for frequent use. Mike decided to perfect a spice blend that would produce a perfect pho' soup using chicken, beef or vegetable broth. After countless recipe tweaks and with the help of willing friends, neighbors and strangers, Mike has finally created the perfect, authentic flavor that can be made by dropping a tea bag of spices into your favorite simmering broth.
